A Strong Position and Global Expectations: Pakistan’s Path from Geography to History

Pakistan, which calls itself an Islamic Republic, has long made terrorism an integral part of its foreign policy. This not only threatens regional peace but also endangers global security. India, which has always stood for peace and development, has repeatedly warned Pakistan that supporting terrorism will ultimately lead to its own destruction. In recent years, reports from the United Nations and the United States have identified Pakistan as a safe haven for terrorists. The U.S. State Department has clearly stated that several terrorist organizations operate freely in Pakistan, carrying out attacks in India and Afghanistan.

India has consistently taken a strong stance against terrorism. The terrorist attack in Kashmir in April 2025, in which innocent tourists were killed, once again exposed Pakistan’s involvement. Following this attack, India carried out strikes on terrorist camps inside Pakistan — a legitimate act of self-defense. Pakistan’s government continues to deny these accusations and portrays itself as a victim of terrorism, yet evidence clearly shows that organizations like Lashkar-e-Taiba thrive with Pakistani support. Even Pakistan’s own defense minister has admitted that the country supported terrorist groups for over three decades.

This situation poses a challenge for India, but its policy remains firm: Zero tolerance for terrorism. Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, India has successfully isolated Pakistan on international platforms. The United States and the European Union stand with India, recognizing that Pakistan’s policies are fueling global terrorism. Meanwhile, Pakistan’s economy is in deep crisis — foreign investors are fleeing due to instability, and its citizens are suffering from poverty, unemployment, and insecurity. Does Pakistan not realize that terrorism is eroding its very foundations?

India, on the other hand, is one of the fastest-growing economies in the world. Our foreign policy is rooted in peace with our neighbors, but we are uncompromising when it comes to national security. From the Balakot strike to recent counterterrorism operations, India has shown that it will not tolerate threats to its sovereignty. The global community must increase pressure on Pakistan to end its support for terrorist organizations. Even the United Nations Security Council has condemned the Kashmir attack, further strengthening India’s position.

Pakistan needs serious introspection. If it chooses the path of peace, regional progress and prosperity are possible. But if it continues to side with terrorism, its international image and geopolitical importance will continue to deteriorate. The people and government of India stand united — we seek peace, but never at the cost of our security. History bears witness that terrorism never triumphs; India’s strength and resolve will ultimately prevail. Pakistan must heed this warning: Change your ways, or history will remember you as a failed state.
