आजकल एक वर्ग बार-बार सवाल उठाता है – “क्या भारत हिन्दू राष्ट्र है?” सच पूछा जाए तो यह प्रश्न उतना ही बेमानी है जितना यह पूछना कि – “सूरज गरम है या ठंडा?” भारत की सभ्यता, इसकी आत्मा और इसकी संस्थाएँ हजारों वर्षों से यह उद्घोष करती आ रही हैं कि –

 “भारत हिन्दू राष्ट्र है।” यह केवल आस्था या भावना का विषय नहीं है, बल्कि इतिहास, संविधान, राष्ट्रीय प्रतीक और विदेशी विद्वानों के साक्ष्य इस सत्य को बार-बार पुष्ट करते हैं।

१. संविधान सभा की गवाही – राष्ट्र का आत्मा स्वर,जब भारत का संविधान बन रहा था, तो संविधान सभा में बार-बार “भारत की आत्मा” और “भारत की परंपरा” का प्रश्न उठा डॉ. राजेन्द्र प्रसाद (संविधान सभा अध्यक्ष, प्रथम राष्ट्रपति): “भारत का संविधान केवल कानूनों का संकलन नहीं होगा, यह इस देश की आत्मा और इसकी सनातन संस्कृति का प्रतिबिंब होगा।” डॉ. राधाकृष्णन (दार्शनिक, द्वितीय राष्ट्रपति):
“धर्म भारत की आत्मा है। यदि हिन्दू धर्म नष्ट हुआ तो भारत की आत्मा मर जाएगी।” के.एम. मुंशी (संविधान सभा सदस्य): “भारत का संविधान नैतिक और सांस्कृतिक रूप से हिन्दू परंपरा पर आधारित है। यह कोई संयोग नहीं है।”
 इन कथनों से स्पष्ट है कि संविधान निर्माताओं ने भारत को “धर्मनिरपेक्ष” पाश्चात्य अर्थों में कभी नहीं देखा, बल्कि इसे सनातन धर्मप्रधान राष्ट्र माना।

२. राष्ट्रीय प्रतीक और संस्थाओं के ध्येयवाक्य – सनातन की गूंज,भारत की हर प्रमुख संस्था अपने ध्येयवाक्य से भारत की सनातन पहचान को उद्घोष करती है।,राष्ट्रीय चिन्ह – “सत्यमेव जयते” (मुण्डकोपनिषद्)।
सर्वोच्च न्यायालय – “यतो धर्मस्ततो जयः” (महाभारत)।,भारतीय थलसेना – “सेवा परमो धर्मः”।
भारतीय नौसेना – “शं नो वरुणः” (ऋग्वेद)। भारतीय वायुसेना – “नभः स्पृशं दीप्तम्” (भगवद्गीता)। IIT, IIM और विश्वविद्यालयों के ध्येयवाक्य – अधिकांश उपनिषद और ऋग्वेद से।

 यह संयोग नहीं, बल्कि साक्ष्य है कि भारत का हर संस्थागत ढाँचा हिन्दू संस्कृति से प्रेरित है।

३. विदेशी विद्वानों की गवाही – सनातन धर्म ही मानवता का पथ
भारत के बाहर के महान विद्वानों ने भी स्वीकार किया है कि भारत की आत्मा सनातन धर्म है।
विल ड्यूरेंट (अमेरिकी इतिहासकार):
“भारत ने दुनिया को धर्म दिया। यदि हिन्दू धर्म नष्ट हो गया तो मानवता का सबसे बड़ा प्रकाश बुझ जाएगा।”
अर्नोल्ड टॉयनबी (ब्रिटिश इतिहासकार):
“बीसवीं सदी के अंत तक पश्चिमी सभ्यता थक जाएगी, और मानवता को बचाने वाला केवल हिन्दू धर्म होगा।”
रोमां रोलां (फ्रांसीसी साहित्यकार):
“भारत का हिन्दू धर्म ही वह शक्ति है जो विश्व को शांति और सहअस्तित्व का मार्ग दिखा सकता है।”

 जब विदेशी भी भारत को सनातन धर्म का उद्गम मानते हैं, तो अपने ही देश के कुछ तथाकथित बुद्धिजीवी इसे नकारते हैं। यह अज्ञान नहीं, बल्कि राष्ट्रद्रोह है।

४. विरोधियों के खोखले तर्क और उनका खंडन

अब आइए देखें कि भारत-विरोधी और सेक्युलर गिरोह किन तर्कों से हिन्दू राष्ट्र की अवधारणा पर हमला करता है।

तर्क १: भारत बहुधार्मिक है, इसलिए हिन्दू राष्ट्र नहीं हो सकता।  उत्तर : हिन्दू राष्ट्र का अर्थ “केवल हिन्दुओं का राष्ट्र” नहीं है। इसका अर्थ है – वह राष्ट्र जिसका आत्मा, संस्कृति और जीवन दर्शन हिन्दू सनातन धर्म पर आधारित है। इसी कारण यहाँ जैन, बौद्ध, सिख, मुस्लिम, ईसाई सभी सुरक्षित हैं।

तर्क २: हिन्दू राष्ट्र अल्पसंख्यकों के लिए खतरा है।

 उत्तर : यदि हिन्दू राष्ट्र खतरा होता तो पिछले १००० वर्षों की गुलामी और ७५ वर्षों की स्वतंत्रता के बाद आज अल्पसंख्यक भारत में सबसे सुरक्षित क्यों हैं? पाकिस्तान, अफगानिस्तान और बांग्लादेश में अल्पसंख्यक गायब हो गए, लेकिन भारत में उनकी जनसंख्या लगातार बढ़ रही है। यह हिन्दू संस्कृति की सहिष्णुता का प्रमाण है।

तर्क ३: संविधान में “सेक्युलर” लिखा है।

उत्तर : यह शब्द मूल संविधान में नहीं था। इसे १९७६ में आपातकाल के दौरान जोड़ा गया, जब लोकतंत्र का गला घोंटा जा रहा था। अतः यह भारत की आत्मा नहीं, बल्कि तानाशाही का पैबंद है।

५. ऐतिहासिक उदाहरण – हिन्दू संस्कृति की धारा,भारत के इतिहास का हर अध्याय हिन्दू राष्ट्र की पहचान कराता है।,मौर्यकाल : अशोक ने बौद्ध धर्म अपनाया, पर इसे हिन्दू संस्कृति के भीतर ही स्थान मिला।

गुप्तकाल : इसे भारत का “स्वर्णयुग” कहा गया, जब सनातन धर्म विज्ञान, कला और दर्शन के साथ फला-फूला।,मुगल और अंग्रेज़ों की गुलामी : विदेशी आक्रांताओं ने हजार साल तक लूट की, लेकिन भारत की आत्मा – सनातन धर्म – नष्ट नहीं कर पाए।,स्वतंत्रता संग्राम : “वन्दे मातरम्” और “जय श्रीराम” के नारे से स्वतंत्रता संग्राम लड़ा गया।

 जो राष्ट्र “माँ” को पूजता है, वह हिन्दू राष्ट्र नहीं तो क्या है?

६. राष्ट्रीय जीवन में धर्म का स्थान,भारत में धर्म का अर्थ केवल पूजा-पद्धति नहीं, बल्कि जीवन का संपूर्ण दर्शन है।,“धर्मो रक्षति रक्षितः” – यही न्यायालय और समाज की आधारशिला है।,गीता का कर्मयोग – आज भी सेना से लेकर विद्यालय तक सबको प्रेरित करता है।,रामायण और महाभारत – केवल कथा नहीं, बल्कि राष्ट्र का नैतिक संविधान हैं।  यहाँ धर्म के बिना राजनीति, समाज या संस्कृति की कल्पना ही नहीं

७. विरोधियों पर सीधी चोट, आज जो लोग कहते हैं कि “भारत हिन्दू राष्ट्र नहीं है”, वे या तो – 1. इतिहास से अनजान हैं, 2. पश्चिमी चश्मे से भारत को देखने वाले हैं, 3. या फिर राष्ट्रविरोधी एजेंडा चला रहे हैं।

सेक्युलर गिरोह को याद रखना चाहिए –
भारत की आत्मा किसी ७५ साल पुराने संशोधन से परिभाषित नहीं होती, बल्कि हजारों वर्षों के सनातन धर्म से होती है।  जो इस सत्य को नकारता है, वह केवल भारत का ही नहीं, बल्कि मानवता का भी शत्रु ह


८. जीवंत उद्घोष,जब सैनिक सीमा पर जाता है, तो गीता का श्लोक पढ़ता है। 

जब न्यायालय फैसला सुनाता है, तो “धर्म” का उद्घोष करता ह जब संसद राष्ट्रगान गाती है, तो “माँ” का पूजन करती है। तो यह किसकी आत्मा है? हिन्दू धर्म की या किसी और की?
९. उपसंहार : भारत हिन्दू राष्ट्र था, है और रहेगा भारत को हिन्दू राष्ट्र मानना किसी राजनीतिक दल का नारा नहीं है।
यह – इतिहास का निष्कर्ष है, संविधान का आधार है, राष्ट्रीय संस्थाओं की आत्मा है, और भविष्य का पथ है।


भारत का उद्घोष है –“धर्मो रक्षति रक्षितः  “सत्यमेव जयते”  “यतो धर्मस्ततो जयः”  भारत हिन्दू राष्ट्र है – यह कोई विकल्प नहीं, बल्कि अकाट्य सत्य.

It asserts that India’s civilization, spirit, and institutions have, for thousands of years, declared:

“India is a Hindu Nation.”

The claim is not based on mere faith or sentiment, but on historical evidence, the Constituent Assembly debates, national mottos, cultural symbols, and even foreign scholars’ testimony.

1. The Constituent Assembly’s Voice – The Soul of the Nation

When India’s Constitution was being framed, several members highlighted India’s spiritual foundation:

• Dr. Rajendra Prasad (First President): “The Constitution of India will not merely be a collection of laws but a reflection of the soul and eternal culture of this country.”
• Dr. S. Radhakrishnan (Philosopher, Second President): “Religion is the soul of India. If Hinduism perishes, India’s soul will die.”
• K.M. Munshi (Constituent Assembly Member): “The Indian Constitution is morally and culturally based on Hindu tradition. This is no coincidence.”

This indicates that India’s makers never envisioned “secularism” in the Western sense, but a nation rooted in Sanatan Dharma.

2. National Symbols & Institutions – Echo of Sanatan

India’s core institutions and mottos come directly from Hindu scriptures:

• National Emblem: Satyamev Jayate (Mundaka Upanishad)
• Supreme Court: Yato Dharmastato Jaya (Mahabharata)
• Indian Army: Seva Paramo Dharmaḥ
• Indian Navy: Shanno Varunaḥ (Rigveda)
• Indian Air Force: Nabhah Spriśam Deeptam (Bhagavad Gita)
• Universities & IITs: Mottos drawn from the Upanishads and Rigveda

This is not coincidence but proof that India’s institutional framework is inspired by Hindu thought.

3. Testimony of Foreign Scholars

Great thinkers outside India have also affirmed Hinduism’s global role:

• Will Durant (American Historian): “India gave religion to the world. If Hinduism dies, the greatest light of humanity will be extinguished.”
• Arnold Toynbee (British Historian): “By the end of the 20th century, Western civilization will exhaust itself, and only Hindu Dharma can save humanity.”
• Romain Rolland (French Writer): “Hinduism of India is the power that can guide the world to peace and coexistence.”

4. Countering the Critics

Secular critics often attack the idea of India as a Hindu Nation. The article rebuts:

• Argument: India is multi-religious, so it cannot be a Hindu nation.
  Reply: Hindu Nation does not mean “nation only of Hindus.” It means a civilization whose spirit is rooted in Sanatan Dharma. That is why all communities – Jain, Buddhist, Sikh, Muslim, Christian – live securely here.

• Argument: Hindu Nation threatens minorities.
  Reply: If it were so, minorities would not have grown in number in India, unlike Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh where they nearly vanished.

• Argument: Constitution says “secular.”
  Reply: The word was not in the original Constitution, but inserted in 1976 during the Emergency – a period of dictatorship.

5. Historical Proof of Hindu Civilization

• Maurya Empire: Even Ashoka’s Buddhism flourished within the Hindu civilizational framework.
• Gupta Era: Called India’s Golden Age – when Sanatan Dharma thrived alongside science and art.
• Mughal & British Rule: A thousand years of foreign domination failed to destroy India’s Sanatan soul.
• Freedom Struggle: Fought under the slogans of “Vande Mataram” and “Jai Shri Ram.”

6. Role of Dharma in National Life

In India, Dharma is not just religion, but the foundation of life:

• Dharmo Rakṣati Rakṣitaḥ – “Dharma protects those who protect it.”
• Gita’s Karma Yoga inspires soldiers and citizens alike.
• Ramayana & Mahabharata are not just epics, but moral constitutions of the nation.

7. Final Word

The article concludes that those denying India’s Hindu identity are either:

1. Ignorant of history,
2. Viewing India through Western lenses, or
3. Pushing anti-national agendas.

8. The Eternal Proclamation

• Soldiers at the border recite verses from the Gita.
• Courts deliver justice in the name of Dharma.
• Parliament begins with worship of the Motherland.

Therefore, the soul of India is Hindu.

Conclusion

India was, is, and will remain a Hindu Nation. This is not a political slogan but an undeniable truth rooted in history, culture, and civilization.
